How would you describe your photography style?
I'd describe my style as true to color authentic! My goal is to capture real and candid moments throughout your session, because of that I don't rely too heavily on posing, instead I like to give you prompts or encourage movement to evoke an emotion and give the photo life. That way we're not just taking photos, we're creating memories so when you look back at each photo you'll remember how you felt in that moment.
Are you an inclusive vendor?
Yes - I believe in marriage equality and that love is love! Please know that all love is welcome in this space and I'm proud to be an inclusive vendor ready to capture your life's biggest moments.
Do I have to print my photos through you?
You do have the option to order prints straight from your gallery, but it's not required. I cannot stress enough how important ordering your photos from the suggested print shops I give you is, there is a huge difference between high and low quality prints and it'll show when you order them!
Do you photograph family sessions?
Occasionally, family sessions are not what I'm most passionate about, so I don't offer them to everyone. Family sessions are only available to repeat clients and for special occasions like family reunions. I only offer one package so please fill out a contact form and don't forget to include a date you're looking to book!
We're going to the hills for a holiday, will you be able to photograph us?
Major holidays, no. Smaller holidays, maybe. Being from ND, all of my family is up there meaning I go home for major holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter and often spend more than a week at home. If you're looking at a session date 1-2 weeks before or after a holiday, I most likely will not be available.
Where are you based and do you travel?
I'm based in Spearfish, SD. I've photographed weddings around the Black Hills, North Dakota, Minnesota and Colorado - so yes, I travel! If your wedding is outside the 50mi radius there is a travel fee of $.50 a mile roundtrip + lodging if necessary.
When will we get our photos?
I know you're excited about receiving your photos & I'm excited to send them to you! During my off season (Nov - April) turnaround time for a regular session is considerably quicker, roughly 2-3 weeks. May - October regular turnaround time is 4-6 weeks because of wedding season being in full swing. As for wedding galleries, you can expect a sneak peak after your wedding in 1-2 weeks followed by your full gallery in 6-8 weeks.
Do you photograph elopements?
Yes I do! Depending on the amount of coverage needed I have special pricing available, fill out a contact form with all your details and we'll chat!
How do I book my wedding date?
You'll start by filling out my contact form to provide details about when and where your wedding is! From there we can set up a time to chat through a call or FaceTime (or if you're local we can meet up) so you have the opportunity to ask me any questions you'd like and so we can get to know each other. If you and your partner decide to book with me, you'll need to sign a contract and pay a 50% deposit to secure your date. After that we'll start looking at dates for your engagement session and all the fun planning starts!
